ABOUT US

The Citizens Council on Illegal Immigration was formed in September, 2004.  The purpose of the Council is to provide the legal residents of WashingtonCounty with a forum in which they can oppose illegal immigration.  The Council will document the problems caused by illegal immigration and propose solutions that can be implements by the community, law enforcement personnel and public officials.

Our County and State budgets are overwhelmed.  Schools, hospitals, law enforcement and public services are strained while the taxpayers incur additional costs and greater debt.  Our Nation's identity, security and survival are threatened by this influx of illegal immigration.  We face a crisis of unprecedented proportions that has increased year by year since 1986.

Illegal immigration is exactly as the expression implies, it is illegal, against the law.  Anyone entering our country without following lawful guidelines is breaking the law, regardless of why they enter.   Statements such as "to make a better life for themselves and their family", "to earn a living wage", or "services are better and more abundant", are not proper reasons to break the law.

Employers provide the fuel for this "unarmed invasion".  They are creating a modern slave labor force by paying low wages, minimum taxes and no benefits.  Illegal aliens accept most anything, just to become employed, making it impossible for a citizen to locate a job.  Illegal aliens degrade the nation's labor force - employers accept them for short term profits, overlooking the long term ramifications.

Our Main thrust is to educate the public, media and public officials concerning illegal immigration and the devastating problems it creates for all citizens.

The Citizens Council is taking action, but we cannot do it alone.  If you see the problem, have experienced harm by it, and wish to assist in combating this "unarmed invasion", please contact us, join a Committee, attend our meetings and spread the word.

SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS

The Citizens Council conducts a monthly public meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month.  The Washington County Commission allows us to reserve the Commission Chambers for the meeting at 7:00 PM.  The address is :  197 East Tabernacle, St. George, Utah 84770.  The public is invitied to attend and participate by asking questions and expressing their views.  The Citizens Council conducts a monthly private planning meeting to organize subject material, plan activities, discuss communications, identify areas of immediate concern and plan long term
